DovenTV is a small organisation helping to bring subtitles to people suffering from deafness and hard of hearing. DovenTV contacted us to produce an Intranet application which could parse huge amounts of data, outputting it in their standard format.

Object Orientated Programming

Using some of the most recent technologies brought forward by PHP, we designed and implemented the application using extendible classes and interfaces. Built for speed and versatility, the parser can format 10‘s of megabytes of data in seconds.

Working as the IT specialist for a small foundation helping the deaf and hard of hearing, we ran into the problem of an unknown subtitle file format used by local TV news stations. It took us hours to adjust by hand every time.

I contacted Centation to be able to convert the subtitle file to our desired needs through a Web interface. Literally within hours they created an application which did just that.

Now embedded on our Intranet site, it now takes just seconds. One word, “Amazing”.
